Walking Tours
We meet 5-10 minutes before the walking tour starts outside VisitScotland Inverness iCentre, 36 High St, Inverness, IV1 1JQ.
If you are travelling to Inverness, to take part in a walk, please consider that travelling on Highland roads may take longer than expected e.g tractors, sheep and weather conditions. There are several large car parks availble at a small cost in Inverness City Centre.
Driving Tours
This shall be discussed at the time of booking. This can be from your Inverness accommodation, or another agreed location. If more than 10 miles from Inverness, then there may be an additional charge.
Walking Tours
- You must cancel at least 24 hours before the tour to receive a full refund. (100% of ticket minus any transaction fees occurred by PayPal of credit card).
- If you cannot give 24 hours notice, we will attempt to reschedule your walk. If nothing is suitable, your ticket will be forfeited.
- If we cancel, for whatever reason, we will refund your full ticket price.
- We will not be held responsible if you miss the tour without any notice.
- If you don’t turn up to your tour, you will forfeit your ticket.
Driving Tours
Cancellation by guest
- Bookings cancelled in writing/email up to 28 days before will lose the 25% deposit.
- Bookings cancelled in writing/email up to 14 days before will receive an 50% refund.
- Bookings cancelled in writing/email with less than 7 days’ notice will not be entitled to a refund. In the case that we are able to re-sell your tour then we may issue a partial refund. Please contact us at the very earliest to discuss.
- We will not be held responsible if you miss the tour without any notice and no refund will be issued.
- If you do not turn up to your tour, you will forfeit your tour and no refund will be issued.
The walking tour & driving tours will operate in all weather apart from extreme weather conditions, if this happens, a full refund will be issued or another tour can be booked. Please dress for the Scottish weather. Kilts are good in all weathers!
The tour itinerary is dependent on time of day and access to venues. We may also be able to add something that we think our guests might like to see such as a choir, a Highland Wedding, Scottish music etc.
The walks are provided by local, English-speaking people who know a lot about the history of the local area and the City as it is today. We are willing to answer your questions or to assist in retrieving information where possible. We are also more than happy to provide suggestions for local restaurants, shops and bars.
The walk takes approximately 2 hours
We take the health and safety of our guests and staff very seriously. During the Covid 19 Pandemic we have additional measure in place.
The Guide and guests must wear face coverings.
Adhere to distancing guidelines.
Hand sanitiser is available.
Group numbers will be in line with the current Scottish Government Guidelines.
If you feel ill, please do not come on the walk. If you contact us before the walk, we will give you a refund.
The walk is mostly on flat ground. There is however a steep inclines on all approaches to Inverness Castle.
Bookings must be done online. We have a function where you can book and pay on the day.
Due to licensing and safety issues, we are not allowed to sell tickets on the street.
Guests are responsible for their own actions. We ask guests to be mindful of all their actions, especially when crossing roads and bridges. Use common sense at all times.
Guests are wholly responsible for their own health, well-being and their children on the walking tour. Inverness is a relatively safe place but as a guest it is your responsibility to keep your belongings and valuables safe and out of harm. We do not accept liability for loss of money, phones or valuables.
Cath’s Inverness Tours cannot accept responsibility for a delayed return e.g. due to road accidents, car breakdowns etc. Guests should have their own travel insurance in place to cover this.
Travel insurance – we strongly recommend that guests arrange for themselves suitable travel, medical, and cancellation insurance.
We take no responsibility for damage to participants on tour or third parties or any financial loss or damage to properties. Walk Inverness waives any claims for damages made against them.
Guests are fully liable if they fail to comply with all of the terms and conditions above.

If you are a tour guide working in the North of Scotland we cannot accept you on our tours due to the obvious conflict of interest. Our walk and it’s content are the copyright of Walk Inverness and cannot be used without our permission.
If you inadvertently book on to a tour without reading our FAQ a full refund of payment will be made.
