Bringing a contemporary spin to one of Scotland best loved heroines Flora Macdonald, a line drawing of her Inverness statue.
Flora was known for helping Bonny Prince Charlie escape from the Government troops after the Battle of Culloden in 1746. This landed her in the Tower of London. Flora did go on to marry, have a family and emigrate to America. Flora is buried on Skye and people from all over the world visit her grave every year.
The Skye boat song was written about her helping Bonnie Prince Charlie to Escape from Skye, Scotland.
Flora’s character was also featured in the Outlander TV series written by Diana Gabaldon.
